Google has recently decided to make a challenging reorganization of its AI research and development departments into one team under the branding of DeepMind. This major step seeks to ease the development processes and further advance the AI technologies of Google.
Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, insists that this consolidation helps DeepMind to build key models that are the source of various needs in Google fields. As a result, other Google units will find the only shortcut on their way to accessing those models. Google’s ability to synthesize both expertise and resources enables the company to become a frontrunner in the delivery of state-of-the-art AI applications to users, partners, and customers.
Pichai mentioned that now, Google Research will concentrate on the discoveries dealing with computing systems, machine learning algorithms, and applied physics. Achieving such discoveries is the foundation of future technological breakthroughs and progressions.
Also, not only integrating AI but deepening AI research, Google is moving its Responsible AI teams from Research to DeepMind.
